Well, it’s winter. Date-wise and temperature-wise.

Have you noticed the difference in what’s on offer at the markets? There is a different kind of abundance at this time of year; more nurturing foods make an appearance through the cooler months – but still plenty of yumtastic options!

FRUIT

Pears
Apples
Quince
Mandarins
Oranges
Pink grapefruit
Lemons
Kiwi fruit

VEGETABLES

Broccoli
Cauliflower
Brussels sprouts
Kale
Spinach
Chicory
Avocado
Artichoke
Pumpkin
Ginger
Carrot
Beetroot
Turnip
Shallots
Fennel
Potato

We have been going completely nutty for mandarins at home … and I have been sneaking broccoli and kale into almost everything I cook at the moment.

What have you been enjoying through the change of season?
