If you’re looking for holistic health support, practical strategies and individually tailored treatments from an experienced naturopath and acupuncturist… welcome, you’ve come to the right place.

Hi, I’m Kathleen

I’m a clinical naturopath and acupuncturist based in beautiful Northern NSW, on Widjabul Wia-bul land. I have been in practice for the past fourteen years, working in integrative and collaborative settings throughout my career.

I have a holistic approach to health and draw on traditional strategies alongside modern evidence to ensure I am offering the best possible treatments and therapeutic recommendations.

I work with all sorts of people and conditions in the clinic, but hold a particular passion for women’s health, pregnancy and postpartum care.

Besides clinical practice, I’m a uni lecturer, work with community and corporate healthcare programs, am a former board director for the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia, and have a young family.

How Can I Help You?

Naturopathy is a holistic system of medicine that recognises the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. A naturopath uses dietary changes, lifestyle advice, and herbal or nutritional supplementation to support these natural processes. Individualised treatment is a key tenet of naturopathy, as no two people are the same, and recommendations are always tailored to the needs of each person.

Acupuncture involves the placement of very fine needles into precise points on the body to benefit a person’s health. These needles are not painful or uncomfortable. In fact, treatments are usually very relaxing. Acupuncture is part of a larger system of medicine known as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and can be used for a wide range of acute and chronic ailments.

Postpartum Home Visits

These in-home health appointments are designed to support women and their families’ health during the fourth trimester; as they adapt physically, mentally, and emotionally to their new family unit. The intention of this service is to create a continuum of care during what is often a time of great upheaval. This ensures that each new mother receives the support she needs to take care of herself, her baby, and her family.

I have been working in integrative clinic settings since 2009, alongside doctors, specialists and other complementary health practitioners. Over the course of the last twelve years, I have observed the value of working collaboratively with my patients and their practitioners to ensure the best health outcomes for all.

Both Naturopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine are holistic health paradigms with a long history of traditional use and a growing body of research evidence that supports their value in modern healthcare. They look to address the underlying causes of illness and promote long term health and wellbeing; as well as addressing symptoms or diagnosed conditions that a patient may present with.

Naturopathic medicine uses nutritional strategies (diet and supplementation), herbal medicine (in food, infusions and as high-quality extracts), lifestyle and environmental change to promote health as well treating.

Acupuncture, a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body that induce a sense of calm, help to reduce pain and inflammation, support healthy hormones, and exert many other positive benefits.

Collaborating with the person receiving treatment and empowering them to understand and own their health is another important part of the clinical process. This is one of the reasons we allow more time for appointments, to be able to delve into the health picture and map out a path of healing.
