China calling

I am deep in acupuncture study at the moment, as I’m about to head to RMIT for mid-year exams, then almost immediately off to Guangzhou for an internship at a TCM* hospital. Am excited! Am bamboozled. But, I’ll get there! Integrating all this new information into my clinical experience and existing practice is interesting. Sometimes I feel like I have to put aside my Western Medicine and Naturopathic understanding of health in order to fit all the Chinese medicine information into my head. Other times, I get a feeling for how it’s going to integrate and can relax that everything will work out just perfectly. Gah. The whole process of learning and growing is never easy or comfortable, is it. Worth it though. And, just six more months then I’m done… with the Masters at least! The learning, however, will never bloody stop.

All up I’m having just over three weeks away from clinic (and my BABY!.. don’t get me started) to be completely immersed / dunked / doused in the practice of acupuncture. Wish me luck! Will post an update on my experience after the fact… and possibly during, depending on the Great Firewall and how much social media it does or doesn’t allow.

I will be here!

I want to go to there.
